Dear Revelers Member,
The Revelers Carnival Organization takes great pride in presenting its 69th annual ball on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at the Biloxi Civic Center. All Revelers members and their guest couples (if you chose Option A with your membership dues payment) are requested to enter through the doors on the west side of the building, and then proceed to the reception table. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and the tableau will begin at 8:00 p.m. The Board of Revelers requests that you and your guests please be seated at your assigned table by 7:45 p.m. to avoid any delay in the tableau presentation. Tickets will be required for admission to the ball. During the past few years we have had several uninvited guests “crash” the ball by entering the building after the tableau begins. This year additional door security measures will be implemented, and security personnel will monitor the outside doors and lobby areas to ensure that only Revelers members and their invited guests enjoy the event.
The ball will conclude at 1:00 a.m. All Revelers members are reminded to wear your pewter Revelers membership medallion. If you need a replacement medallion, please contact John Heath at 228-861-1779, and a replacement medallion will be mailed to you. The cost of the replacement medallion is $ 20.00. All new members for 2019 will be presented a membership medallion prior to the ball compliments of Revelers. In addition to the enclosed member ticket (and guest couple ticket if applicable) you should also find enclosed a participant wrist band that we ask you to wear during the evening to ensure your admittance to the ball room floor. Security will be monitoring the ball room doors to make sure only Revelers members and their guests are on the ball room floor. We regret having to implement this increased level of security, but due to past experiences it will allow us to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening.
The Biloxi Civic Center allows the ball participants to bring their own food and drinks to the ball. However, there are strict rules prohibiting styrofoam ice chests, large roll around ice chests, and large capacity ice chests within the building. Such items will not be allowed inside the building by the security staff. Please bring only small ice chests to the ball.
Revelers will provide complimentary ice, cups, napkins, water, and limited set ups. Members and guests who desire food, snacks, or drinks at their table must bring their own. No food, snacks, or drinks will be provided by Revelers nor will there be any available for purchase the night of the ball. However, Revelers has arranged with several caterers to provide food service the night of the ball. A listing of these caterers has been posted to our web site www.therevelers.org
All orders with these caterers must be made in advance. Revelers will provide the caterers with a list of the member assigned table numbers for the convenience of delivering your orders. Complete catering menus will be posted to our web site: www.therevelers.org
Enclosed with this letter are the following:
Your ticket for admission to the ball. Your ticket admits you and your lady guest to the ball. Membership tickets are not transferrable. No stags will be allowed. Gentlemen must wear formal attire (tuxedo) or formal military dress. The ladies must be attired in full length formal gowns. Anyone not compliant with the dress code will not be allowed on the ball room floor. You must have a membership ticket for admission plus your Revelers wrist band that has been enclosed with this ball packet.
Your guest couple ticket to the ball. This ticket will admit your guest couple to the ball if you chose Option A when you paid your 2019 dues of $400. If you chose Option B and paid dues of $275, you are not entitled to invite a guest couple to join you at the ball. Guests must abide by the same dress code as stated above. If perhaps you now want to invite a guest and are an Option B member or a new Revelers members for 2019, a guest couple ticket can now be purchased for $ 200 per couple. Also, Option A members can invite a second guest couple by obtaining an additional guest couple ticket for $ 200. To obtain guest tickets, please contact John Heath at 228-861-1779. All guests must have a ticket to be admitted to the ball as well as a Revelers wrist band that will be provided.
Table reservation reply card and envelope. In order for the Board of Revelers to assign seating arrangements for the ball, it is important for you to promptly complete and return the table reservation card to us. Please indicate on the card if you plan to attend the ball. We are anticipating a full house at the ball, and thus we need your response so that we can attempt to accommodate your seating request. If you do not return your seating request card, your table assignment will be made after all of the returned responses have been seated. The Revelers board will meet on February 20, 2019, to make the ball seating assignments. A listing of the 2019 Revelers members has been posted to our web site: www.therevelers.org
The Revelers wishes to extend an invitation for your family and friends to view the tableau from the second floor balcony area of the Biloxi Civic Center. Viewing tickets can be requested by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Formal attire is not required in the viewing area. Access to the balcony area is by elevator in the reception area of the Civic Center. No food or drink is allowed in the viewing area, and those viewing the ball will not be allowed on the main ball room floor, and will not participate in the ball.
The Revelers host hotel is the Golden Nugget Casino in Biloxi. You are encouraged to join the 2019 Royalty and the Revelers Board for the Mardi Gras weekend at our host hotel. For room reservations please call the Golden Nugget at 228-435-5400, and mention the Revelers group code number of S190304. Our special room rate for Friday and Saturday nights is $ 179.00 per night. In addition to the ball, the Revelers Board will again host a ball day open house at The Slavonian Lodge on the day of the ball (March 2nd) from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Revelers invites its members and their guests to this informal open house where good food, beverages, and music will again be featured at this annual event. Please make plans now to join us for this event as we get ready for the 2019 Revelers ball.
